White Paper : "Biodiversity protection and agriculture development in Nature 200 areas: criticality and proposals”

In the whole of the project fa.re.na.it has been produced a White Paper titled "Biodiversity protection and agriculture development in Nature 200 areas: criticality and proposals".

The publication presents the results emerged during more than 90 meetings organized in 20 Italian regions between 2012 and 2015, with Regional and Local public administrators and agricultural sector.

The objective of the White Paper is to provide the competent authorities guidelines to improve the achievement of protection objectives of Natura 2000.

In order to promote cooperation for biodiversity protection in Natura 2000 sites at all levels (government, local authorities and farmers), the White Paper suggests to develop training activities towards farmers  to make them more aware about the use of available funds; to provide specific technical assistance for the production companies that insist on Natura 2000 and to implement the correct promotion of agricultural productions from Natura 2000 areas.
